Keith E. Whittington is the David Boies Professor of Law at Yale Law School, the faculty director of the Center for Academic Freedom and Free Speech at Yale University, and a visiting fellow at the Hoover Instituiton. He previously served as the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Politics at Princeton University.

His research spans American constitutional history, constitutional theory, and judicial politics. He is the author of several award-winning books, including Speak Freely: Why Universities Must Defend Free Speech and The Impeachment Power: The Law, Politics, and Purpose of an Extraordinary Constitutional Tool .

In addition to his academic work, he was the founding Chair of the Academic Committee of the Academic Freedom Alliance, served on the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States, and is a frequent contributor to public discourse on legal and constitutional matters.
